PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE
To enable Young People (15-24yrs) to build their confidence, skills, resilience and knowledge of sexuality, sexual health and sexual health services.

The conference aims to educate, inform and advocate for the sexual health and well-being of young people so that the community becomes a safe sex and youth positive environment.

CONFERENCE OUTCOMES
The workshops and presentations are focused on building knowledge and understanding through youth engagement so that young people to feel:

Informed

Enable Young People build confidence and knowledge around sex, sexuality and sexual health in a sex positive, Youth positive environment.  


Create and use multimedia and arts based platforms to develop positive culture and resilience around bullying, homophobia, body image, consent and healthy sexual boundaries.

Safe

Enable Young People to have access to sexual health services.



Avenue for youth to build skills around protective behaviours and to reduce STI risk; develop understanding and confidence to access a range of services including testing and treatment.

Valued

Create an opportunity for youth to engage in open dialogue around sexual health and well-being which supports them to share their own observations and experience so that they lead their way forward.

Support young people to value their own bodies and well-being as they make sexual health choices that feel true for them.


Create a platform for other Youth, parents, teachers and service providers and local media to discuss issues, barriers and solutions around issues regarding sex and youth sexual health.
